(Carson City, NV) – There’s mixed reaction to Governor Brian Sandoval’s call for extending over $600-million in temporary tax increases. Las Vegas state Senator Michael Roberson, who heads the Senate Republican Caucus, says he backs the idea if it means no cuts for education. Some Democratic leaders are calling for tax hikes to increase spending on public schools and colleges. Yesterday, the governor also called for agencies to prepare no-growth budgets, in addition to renewing increased sales and business taxes set to expire in July 2013.
