(Las Vegas, NV) — Nevada charter schools are moving up in a national ranking. Dr. John Hawk, the president of the Charter School Association of Nevada says even with the better ranking there is still room for improvement. Last year Nevada ranked 23, while this year the state comes in at number 20 for how each state supports charter education. Although Hawk says state budget cuts are hurting them as they receive less money for the school year than before. Charter schools give kids a choice in how they learn and a more intimate learning environment.
