(Las Vegas, NV) – The woman whom police believe stabbed her six-year-old daughter to death makes her first court appearance this morning. Authorities say Kyla Franks was found dead Sunday at her home near Vegas Drive and Jones. Homicide Lieutenant Ray Steiber says the girl was stabbed with scissors. Her mother, 27-year-old Danielle Slaughter, was detained after running through her Northwest Valley neighborhood bloodied and naked. Steiber says Slaughter “had some sort of mental breakdown.”
